Design Support & Prototyping

Can RPA Help Optimize or Refine My Design for CNC Manufacturing?

Yes. We provide design refinement and manufacturability (DFM) support to help you improve part performance and reduce production cost. Based on your sketches, 2D drawings, or 3D CAD files, our engineers can recommend optimizations such as tolerance review, material selection, feature adjustments, and process suggestions (CNC machining, fabrication, casting, forging, etc.).

Our goal is to ensure your design meets functional and technical requirements while improving manufacturing efficiency, lead time, and overall cost.

Yes. We can manufacture and improve parts based on the physical sample you provide through reverse engineering. Our engineers will measure and analyze the sample, extract key design data, and recreate the part as 2D drawings and/or 3D CAD models, then recommend manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, metal fabrication, casting, or forging based on your requirements.

This service is ideal if you want to replicate, repair, or upgrade an existing product but don’t have original technical files. We can also optimize the design based on testing results, fitment checks, and your feedback to ensure the final parts meet your performance and quality expectations.

Yes. Prototype production is typically charged, as it involves real manufacturing costs such as raw materials, engineering/programming time, machine setup, and any required special processes or testing.

Before we start, we will provide a detailed prototype quotation based on your drawings, tolerances, materials, and finishing requirements, so you can review the cost and timeline in advance.

Yes. We can manufacture functional prototypes that are suitable for real-world performance testing. Based on your requirements, we select the appropriate materials, machining processes, tolerances, and surface finishes to ensure the prototype closely matches the fit, strength, and function of the final production part.

We can also support validation needs such as critical-dimension inspection, fitment checks, and iterative updates after testing, helping you confirm your design before moving to mass production.

Prototype lead time depends on the part complexity, material availability, manufacturing process, and required finishing/inspection. In most cases, prototypes can be completed in a few days to a few weeks.

After we review your drawings or 3D files and confirm specifications (tolerances, surface finish, quantity, and testing needs), we will provide a clear estimated schedule and delivery timeline during the initial review.

RPA supports prototyping with a wide range of materials, including plastics, metals, and composites. Material selection depends on your prototype’s purpose—such as fit-check models, functional testing, strength/heat resistance requirements, and your budget.

Share your application, target performance, and testing conditions, and our engineers will recommend the most suitable material and process to achieve the best balance of function, manufacturability, lead time, and cost.

RPA uses industry-standard CAD/CAM software to support design, prototyping, and production. For product development and engineering drawings, we work with CAD tools such as AutoCAD to create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models.

To ensure smooth transition from design to manufacturing, we also use CAM programming software to generate toolpaths and machining programs for CNC production, helping improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency from prototype to mass production.
